The California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) takes effect on 1 January 2020 and will affect most Californian businesses. Securomat helps your business get ready and compliant.
California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) is a new law which aims to protect user data from being used in unexpected ways. It is one of the first privacy regulations in the US and aligns with the EU's GDPR regulation, which has a similar 'data protection' objective. CCPA allows consumers to force companies to tell them what personal information they have collected. It also lets consumers force companies to delete that data or to forbid them from sharing it with third parties. CCPA applies to the following businesses:
California’s attorney general can bring an action against any company or individual person violating the CCPA for up to $2,500 per instance.
CCPA mandates that all covered businesses need to display a "Do not sell my personal information" link prominently on their home page.
End-users need to be able tell your business they don't want their personal information to be sold.
Every 12 months, your business should verify your user's opt-out preferences. Manage that process here.
Securomat helps businesses stay secure and compliant with data privacy regulations including California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA).
